About the Journals
There are thousands of polls that quantify how voters identify politically or how they rank issues in order of importance, but that is not what we were looking to learn. With this voter research journal, the goal was instead to gain a better understanding of voters’ lived experiences, attitudes, and motivations before and after the recent presidential election. Conducted in collaboration with a bipartisan group of research and data experts, Center Forward engaged over 30 individuals before, after, and now several months into the new administration. We heard from voters, in their own words, about how they regarded the political climate in 2024 and assessed their outlook going forward.
Conducted by Center Forward in collaboration with a bipartisan team of research and data experts at GS Strategy Group and Breakthrough Campaigns, the Voter Research Journals has tracked the political views of the same voters, beginning in the lead-up to the 2024 presidential election, continuing through 2025, and now heading into the 2026 midterm elections.
Latest Journal – The American 250 Mindset

It’s a portrait of a country with a strong sense that achieving that future will require finding common ground and moving beyond an era of deep division.
